Atlantian Novella pt.4In the beginning if Atlantis’ history, the current area was a part of an even bigger city. Then the War started. Atlantis used to be a large-scale trading center in those days. It was bombed mercilessly. The skyscrapers of majestic glass and steel crashed to the ground. The people were dumbstruck as their citadel of wonder fell around them. Two-thirds of the city was annihilated. The passing enemy forces didn’t even pick at the scraps of their rampage. To everyone concerned, Atlantis was dead. Now the city is loosely governed by a district officer, who in turn appoints a mayor and police chief. The first act of office waAtlantian Novella pt.4

Atlantian Novella pt.2Just like the hall inside the rotting building, the streets of Atlantis were just as scummy and crowded. Trout had a hard time pushing forward through the milling masses. As she trekked block after block, she looked back at Jericho. He kept pace, slipping through the crowd as easily as air, though not fast enough to appear eager or hurried. If you got some place to go, Atlantians say, then you got something someone wants. That would attract undue attention. Even more than the obvious humps in both Exile’s coats. The grey duster Trout wore was stained with rust, making it a dirty-red color. Jericho’s was a shorter, hooded jackeAtlantian Novella pt.2

Atlantian Novella pt.1The building was dirty and cramped, like most of downtown Atlantis. The hallway was alive with more tenants than cockroaches, and that was saying something. Loud, noisy, and filled with scum. As a mass of people filed toward the stairs for the evening meal, one man pushed opposite. He was a good height and build, nothing abnormal at first glance. His hair was a crazy neon-blue typical of bikers and druggies. His ragged shirt and ripped jeans told the same story. Nobody bothered to look at him for long, though, because that either meant trouble or an invite to it. Nobody in the hallway wanted that. As the man reached room 198, he pAtlantian Novella pt.1
